Village Renewal & Development

The lack of proper paths and lighting in both Parke and Crimlin, especially at the schools, churches, and community centres was highlighted in the community survey. Resolving this will take time, however we are committed to liaising with all the stakeholders including land owners, school, community centre, and church boards, and with local councillors and with Mayo County Council, to ensure that the current deficits are addressed as quickly as possible.

In 2019 we resolved to fund raise and purchase several benches, to be placed in suitable and scenic locations on the many informal walking trails and paths that became especially popular with the advent of Covid. This street furniture investment will continue, thanks to support from funders and from public land-owning agencies including but not limited to Mayo County Council and Inland Fisheries Ireland. The new benches will be installed by our volunteers. If you have a suitable location in mind for another bench, please drop us an email!
