ABOUT

Who we are

Parke & Crimlin Area Development Association is a voluntary, non-profit, and non-political organization founded in 2019 that is dedicated to enhancing the area for the benefit of residents and tourists alike.

Brief History

The association emerged in 2019 on the suggestion that a local community group may be able to access funding via Mayo County Council to enable paths, lighting and enhancements be made under the Village Renewal Scheme.
Although that initial application was not successful, the members agreed to continue working so that local development projects could be pursued.

Governance

The constitution covering the Association is based on the recommendations available from the Irish Charity Regulatory Authority. A copy of the constitution is available here.

The Association holds current insurances appropriate to its work and status.

Meetings

Meetings are typically held on the first Monday of each month, alternating between the Parke and Crimlin community centres, usually starting at 9 p.m.
New members are always welcome. If you would like to see how we operate, please drop into the next meeting. There are no private or closed meetings.

The Commitee

The current committee was elected at the Annual General Meeting in March 2024 in accordance with the Association’s constitution.

The only requirement for membership is that you must be resident within the area.  Voting rights are available to every member, on a single vote per person basis, provided members attend meetings on a regular basis.
